The education system in the UK is divided into several levels based on the age of the student

England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are the four administrative regions have different education regulator. The British government in charge of England while the other third oversees educational setting in each region of Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Supervision of education in England conducted nationally by the Department of Education (Department for Education-DfE) and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (Department for Business, Innovation and Skills - BIS) (Soelaiman, 2014)

The education system in the UK is divided into several levels based on the age of the student (Figure 1), namely:
Pre-primary education ( pre-primary education ), age 3-4 years
Primary education ( primary education ), age 4-11 years
Secondary education ( secondary education ), aged 11-16 years
Continuing education ( further education ), aged 16-18 years
Higher education ( higher education ), age over 18 years

Every year, the academic year begins in September and ends the following year in June or July. One academic year is divided into two semesters: 1st semester starts in September to January, then the 2nd semester starts in late January to late May (Atdikbudlondon, 2014).

British education system of education following the compulsory pre-primary, primary, and secondary, until the age of 16 years. Completion of this program is marked by diterimakannya GCSE ( General Certificate of Secondary Education ) (Atdikbudlondon, 2014).

After GCSEs, students should be educated for 2 years in further education. Continuing education is composed of AS ( Advanced Subsidiary ) level and continued with A-Level / Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) / International Baccalaureate (IB) / Cambridge Pre-U that can be taken in the same school, sixth form college or further college education . The acquisition of A-level certificate is a requirement for students to continue on to higher education. At this level of education, the education system also provides an opportunity for students who want to immediately be able to plunge into the world of work to go to vocational school ( vocational ). At the end of this school, students will get a certificate of National Vocational Qualification (NVQ). The education system in the UK also did not rule out if there are vocational school students who want to continue their education to higher education. Students can continue to higher education if academically eligible.

Study further, namely higher education ( higher education), composed of undergraduate and post-graduate education. Undergraduate education can be applied for 3 years. starting with the master lived for a year, then a doctoral education for 3 years (Soelaiman, 2014).
