Is the academic year?

Schools in England have three periods. Each school sets its own dates and periods that can vary, but in general these guidelines:

Autumn period: September to mid-December. Mid-autumn holiday is a week or two weeks at the end of October.
Period spring: early January until Easter. Pertenghan spring vacation is a week in February
Summer period: after Easter until early July. Mid-season vacation is a week in late May.
What happens during the school holidays?

For a long summer holiday (from early July to early September), and for the Christmas holiday (from mid-December to early January), most of the boarding schools closed and students back home parent or guardian. Some schools, however, run the language course during this period.

For the holiday period is shorter holidays, some schools remain open. Usually, you will not have a normal class - after all this is a holiday! - But you will be supervised by staff and can take part in several activities and events.

Most schools closed in the middle of the period. If you can not return to the house, then you will have to live with the guardian, the person responsible adult in the UK that could keep you up. Boarding houses can help you to get a guardian.

As to whether the accommodation?

At boarding school, you live with other students in a boarding house - there may be some dormitories in each school. Girls and boys lived in separate accommodation.

In each dorm, there will be at least one parent living in a dorm. Their job is to keep you and pay attention to your needs. They may be a teacher at the school as well.

Young lodger might share a bedroom or dorm with six children. Each student has their own areas that can be personalized with photos, key cabinets, and cabinets for goods. Share this way can be fun - you may be tempted to stay up all night playing games and talking with your roommate, but do not forget about your class the next day!

Lodger older usually have a private bedroom, or sharing a room with only one other student. You may also have a shower or wash themselves.

Most dorms have a cozy communal area where you can relax, socialize and watch television with a fellow pupil. Some have a small kitchen area as well, so you can make a light meal.

As to whether food?

Good food is very important - for the happiness and health. English boarding school tend to strive to make their food is healthy and delicious.

For breakfast you might get a breakfast of bread, cereals, porridge or fruit. For lunch, there is the possibility of selection very much for the excellent food, including hot meals, salads and vegetarian dishes, desserts were interesting and fresh fruit. In the evening, the food is also healthy and abundant, with the same choice.

Most schools serve vegetarian well. If students have to eat halal or kosher food, or have food allergies, talk to the school to see what they offer. See the article Food and beverages us for more details.

If you visit the school, ask the students how makananya according to them - they will tell the truth!
