Boarding school is a school with a residence where students live and learn during the school year. There are about 500 school hostels throughout England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Most of the English boarding school is a mixed school between international students and local students English. 'Lodger' is a student at the school. 'Pupil daily' live with their families and return home at the end of the school day. This mixture will help create a good social atmosphere.

Most English boarding school is a mixed school, teaching boys and girls (grades are mixed, but separate accommodation). There are also many schools for sex that is not mixed.

There are two types of English boarding school:

Independent boarding schools

(also known as a private boarding school or country)

Country boarding school

Registration is open to students of different nationalities.

English learners and students from the European Economic Area accepted.

School fees are free (funded by the state) but there is a fee for hostel accommodation.

Because independent boarding schools charge fees, they usually have more money to invest in facilities than state boarding school, and class sizes are generally smaller. Join the school system

British boarding school system is divided into three levels:

Primary education is for children aged four or five to 11 or 13 years. The usual term you hear is primary, infant, junior, pre-prep school, and college preparatory. The term 'pre-prep' and the 'preparation' is most often used in the independent sector.

Secondary education is for students aged 11 or 13 to 16 years. The usual term you hear is the middle school, high school and senior school. 'Schools senior' is a term more commonly used in the independent sector.

Shape Sixth is for students aged 16 to 18 years.

Under the age of 7, children can go to school at a boarding school as a day pupil. Since ages 7 and up, children can attend one of the daily student dormitories. To join an English boarding school, you do not have to start at the age of 7 years. Most international students join at age 7, 11, 13, 14 or 16 years.
