Opening Activities
The opening activities function is to make the students prepare mentally and physically to follow the teaching activities process. It is supported by Usman (2004) who states that opening activities lead the learners to the precondition which indicates the learners are ready to focus their attention to what they are going to learn. In this section, the teachers can fill the activities such as checking students’ attendance list, leading them to the materials which are going to be learned, motivating the students by showing such media of learning, stating the objectives of learning, telling them the activities which are going to do, etc.

Main Activities
The objective of main activities is to achieve basic competences. These activities should be meaningful, interactive, and challenging. In constructing main activities, it depends on indicators. The indicators have been formulated leads the teachers to organize the activities. The activities show the steps of what the students do from the lower level to upper level of difficulties. The well-organized activities guide the students to achieve the basic competence as it is shown on each indicator that is developed in the main learning activities.

Closing Activities
Closing activities is the activity done by the teachers to end the whole learning activities. It is intended to give the students a picture of understanding to what they have been learned, and to identify learners achievement during teaching and learning process (Usman, 2004). In this part of activities, the teacher can fill the activities, such as making conclusion from what they have been learned, giving them follow up, giving them evaluation, and etc.

In addition, there are some criteria which are needed to be considered in setting the teaching and learning activities (Sujinah, 2011);

TEACHING IS NOT EASY BUT IT IS VERY INTERESTING JOB

TEACHING IS NOT EASY BUT IT IS VERY INTERESTING JOB

TEACHING IS NOT EASY BUT IT IS VERY INTERESTING JOB

As we all know, teaching is not easy but it is very interesting job. It may seem easy to study at a University and prepare yourself to be a teacher, but when it is the time to practice it may not look as easy as it was expected. There are some important things you should keep as a good teacher.
Well, the most thing you should have to be a successful teacher is to know your students and their needs well. Your classes have many students with different backgrounds, education knowledge, learning strategies, needs, and may be culture. It is very important to know your students before starting teach. If you teach grammar and structure, for example, ask your students to write a short paragraph about themselves. You can collect their work and check it later. Their work will tell you their background and knowledge of grammar rules and sentence structure. So, getting an idea about the entire needs of your students is the most important factor in being a professional teacher.
Professional teachers enjoy their job and vary their roles in the class. You may want to be the person who provides the students information. But besides being information deliverer, you can be a close friend of them, a parent, and a promoter. You can enjoy and vary your role in the class in a way that interests both, your students and you. You never can better when you enjoy your job. Creating a relaxed environment helps you successfully cover a great amount of the contentBesides, you will realize better participation of your students with time and therefore learning will happen.
One thing more, students have different learning strategies, so successful and professional teachers vary their teaching techniques. Using the same method every time does not help reaching the goal. Some of your students can not react to a specific method but they can do much better with another one. From the other hand, the used method can be suitable for a specific content of a lesson but not for another one. Using the GTM or Direct method, for example, can be good in a lesson but not in another. Some students may react to TPR while others may not show clear reaction or great interest in the method. Choosing good activities or practice tasks is another factor here. Think carefully how you can assess your students new language and set the best activity for that. You can use pair or group work one time, and oral discussion other time, and many more activities.

Professional teachers

Professional teachers:

To sum up, being a good and successful teacher is not a talent, but a skill you learn and acquire through time. The list bellow shows the most important features of professional teachers:
Professional teachers:
1.      Know their students well.
Students are not only intellectual but also social and emotional beings, and all these dimensions interact to impact learning and performance.
2.      A Professional teacher respects students.

3.      Joke with their students and create relaxed class environment
4.      Are always patient with students
A professional teachers possess good listening skills and take time out of their way-too-busy schedules for anyone who needs them. If this teacher is having a bad day, no one ever knows. The teacher leaves personal baggage outside the school doors.
5.      Plan everything before they come to the class
Ø  Understand learner’s needs
Ø  Diagnose learner’s learning problems

Ø  Evaluate students learning
Ø  Design and adapt tests
Ø  Evaluate and choose published materials
Ø  Adapt commercial materials
Ø  Make us of authentic materials
Ø  Make appropriate use of technology

6.      Develop a plan
Writing a personal professional development plan, will help you to identify the specific tasks and goals you need to complete to achieve progress in your career. Aim to identify both short-term and long-term goals with time scales included. This will focus your planning and enable you to monitor and assess your professional progress, as well as enhancing your personal motivation.
7.      Never waste time
A professional teacher understands the need to start the day well, every day. Truly professional teachers will make sure that they arrive at least ten minutes before the first bell rings, so as to prepare themselves mentally for the day ahead.

Demonstrate your competency

Demonstrate your competency

1.Demonstrate your competency
These days it is no longer enough to claim you have the skills and experience necessary to do a job; you need to provide evidence as proof. Once you have identified the competencies (knowledge, skills and behaviour) required for a specific job it is essential that you provide examples of how you acted in real situations in the past which demonstrate these competencies

2.Vary and use different teaching techniques
3.Look for the most suitable activities for students

4.Take an interest in every student
The better you get to know your students, the more influence you will have on their attitude towards your subject and on their lives in general. Remember the adage: "Teachers touch eternity; they never know where their influence may end."

5.Give their students enough time to learn and practice
It so easy to waste time in lessons and not accomplish what you want. Use time limits, say things such as: "Ok, you have 10 minutes to do the activity". This will push students into action. Put a timer in your classroom and let it ring when the time is over. Even better, have a student keep the time. Make it clear and include a timed agenda of how many minutes you are going to be spending on each part of the lesson. This ensures that your lesson moves swiftly and at a good pace.

6.Consult parents.
Try to include parents in the educational process and encourage their support of the school's disciplinary processes and procedures. Be polite and calm when dealing with parents. Keep reminding them that every discussion about the child needs to be undertaken with the child's best interests at heart.

7.Take responsibility for your students' results.
As a professional teacher, the grades your students achieve are a reflection on you. Bear this in mind, in all you do.

8.Focus on the goal

Being a professional teacher does not mean that you have to be uncaring or boring if you keep in mind these three principles:

1.See yourself as the students’ mentor, not their friend.
Effective teachers care about their students and want to be involved in their lives, but they also realize that they must take the role of mentor, not friend. A mentor steers and guides his students without acting like their peer.

2.Be friendly, not familiar.
Be friendly and open in your interactions with students, but avoid being familiar.

3.Care more about being effective than being liked.
While everyone has an innate desire to be liked, you cannot let this natural inclination control you as a teacher. If you worry about whether or not your students like you, you won’t be professional, and your classroom will become very difficult to control. Instead, focus on your desire to be an effective teacher whom the students can respect.
